Gjöfin til Íslenzkrar Alþýðu

Book design for ASI Art Museum. Gjöfin til Íslenzkrar Alþýðu (The Gift to the People) showcases the artwork that sparked the forming of Iceland’s ASI Art Museum in 1961. The comprehensive, 252-page volume features work spanning more than a century by Iceland’s most renowned artists. Each piece has been carefully restored to its original appearance and enhanced to come to life in this large format.
The book is printed on 150 gr. Munken Polar Rough paper stock to engage the sense of touch. The cover jacket is printed in Pantone 876 and set in Boogie School, a typeface designed by Icelandic type-foundry Or-Type. Designed by Arnar&Arnar and published by the museum itself, Gjöfin won the golden prize at the FÍT — Icelandic Association of Graphic Designers Awards — in 2020.
